Delma Perez, more affectionately called ‘Diddy’ is a singing sensation!
Her love for music began while inside of her mother’s womb and grew even stronger as she grew up. Life at home was filled with bedtime songs and psalms, while being held in her mother’s arms.

In 1996, she had her first opportunity to sing in Public. At 8 years of age, she was tasked to sing on behalf of her Primary School at mass in the Roman Catholic Church. From then on, Delma began singing more and more in public forums, mainly churches.

During High School, she adopted the nickname, “The Singing Police.” She was a member of the Dominica Cadet Corps and was already singing at various events on behalf of the secondary school, the Cadets and the Venezuelan Embassy, where she furthered her knowledge of the Spanish language.

Delma’s first taste of live entertainment was when she joined a local reggae band called, “Sub-Urban Band”. She performed at various local gigs and was later featured on their 2010 album, ‘To Africa With Love’ singing alongside the band’s lead singer, ‘Oscar Beo Bradley’ on track #5, ‘Nothing Seems Like Love.’ (https://www.allmusic.com/album/to-africa-with-love-mw0002062981)

In 2007, Delma was tasked to write a Latin song for The First Serenade Band in Dominica. She was then given a musical piece of Latin genre on which she wrote the song ‘Baila’ which was featured on the band’s 2007 ‘Body Work’ album.

In 2008, Delma moved to the British Virgin Islands where she continued to sing with entertainment bands at various locations including other islands within the territory. She has been a member of the ‘RAW’ band, the ‘Uprising Band’, the ‘Too Smooth Band’, and the ‘Hot Sauce Band’ with Al Broderick. She is presently the female lead singer / vocalist with the ‘Evolution Band’, along with being an upcoming solo artist.

Delma has won various singing competitions, the most recent being Platinum Search International British Virgin Islands where she received First Place for a gospel song that she wrote and performed to an audience and judges.
In 2018, she collaborated with Jerome TheKing and wrote the second verse to his song, ‘Turn Your Back On Me’. She was also featured in a video with Jerome, performing her part in the song.

In 2019, Delma wrote a song called ‘Skinny Girl’ for the Evolution Band, which gives her audience a sense of what it was like growing up as a skinny girl in the Caribbean.
She continues to perform at various events during the Carnival season in the British Virgin Islands, at scheduled weddings, Full moon parties and her regular on and off-island gigs alongside the Evolution Band.
